2021 Outreach Summary
In 2021, we reached 1,500 students in all ten NH counties through NH’s Kid Governor. We expanded Civics 603! to include mock trial opportunities for 5th and 6th graders, with this program reaching over 1,200 students to date. Mikva Challenge grew from six communities to eight communities.
We hosted four William W. Treat lectures including Renewing Trust in Democracy: The Role of Courts with former solicitors general Gregory Garre and Neal Katyal, moderated by Laura Knoy and A Conversation with General James Mattis: What is the Role of the Military in a Democracy? We estimate that our 2021 Treat Lecture series reached 2,761 people.
We held three programs for the general public, reaching upwards of 131 adults through our virtual Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Passage of the 26th Amendment, NH Young Leaders Roundtable, and Civics Slam! with David Alcox.
Our teacher professional development workshops trained 162 teachers grades pre-K-12.
The NH Civic Learning Coalition began its first year of work, convening 40 stakeholders from around the state to improve and increase civic learning in NH.
To date, more than 4,400 teachers in New Hampshire have utilized NH Civics’ innovative and free online resources and trainings.
