Mikva Challenge

Democracy is a verb.

The Mikva Challenge civics curricula encourages youth to be informed, participatory citizens in their communities and beyond.

NH Civics has been working with NH teachers to help them implement Mikva Challenge in their classrooms. We are currently working with the following school districts: Groveton, Littleton, Weare, Pittsfield, Franklin, Concord, Washington, and Bow. In the past we have worked with Gorham and Henniker. NH Civics seeks more district partners, especially in underserved and under resourced communities.

NH Civics received a three-year service grant to work with New Hampshire schools as they implement this proven civics curriculum, educator professional development, and youth leadership program. Curricula include Project Soapbox, Issues to Action, Elections in Action, and Student Voice Committees.

This initiative is funded by the Bezos Family Foundation along with local NH organizations including the Tillotson Foundation, the NH Democracy Fund, and the Jameson Foundation.
